Regarding Consent
I do not require consent during roleplay for a vast majority of things. I'm not against your character doing simple things such as picking her up or giving her a good bonk on the noggin' if the desire arises. I find roleplay with the requirement of consent for every little thing to be a bit too restrictive for my tastes.
However, I do ask that if you intend on doing anything too extreme (acts of extreme violence or overtly sexual behavior) to please run it by me beforehand. I don't think this is too much to ask and I hope you feel the same!
Just don't get too carried away. So long as the lack of consent required doesn't blur the line between acceptable behavior and godmodding of some sort, I'm a-okay! And as always, if you simply aren't sure- ask me anyway! I don't mind.Regarding Stolen References
Please do not ask me to roleplay if the artwork you are using is not your own, or you do not have permission to use it. Disclaiming the art (i.e.: adding "not my art" somewhere with the image) does not make it okay. In fact, you're basically admitting to theft by doing so.
People pay money and often put a lot of effort into designing their characters. A vast majority of the time they do not want other people using the images for themselves. It is theft and it's not fair or right to do. I don't hate you if you do this, but please understand that I will not roleplay with you, either.
Using a reference as an actual reference is perfectly acceptable! But I find that people lose sight of the true meaning of that word and use an image in its entirety and say "this is exactly what my character looks like." That is not referencing, that is stealing.
Please use an open mind when reading this. I'm not an elitist shaming those who can't afford their own artwork. I'm simply saying that just because you don't feel art is worth money, or you can't afford it yourself, that does not make stealing it any less wrong of a thing to do. Be considerate to others. First thing's first; I seldom contact people first! There is no other reason for this beyond me being incredibly shy. It's equal parts social introversion/awkwardness as it is fear of being shot down or treated poorly in some way. Please don't take offense to this.
And most importantly, please understand... My being quiet at times or seldom reaching out to say hello to you first is NOT me being stand offish, elitist, or not wanting to have anything to do with you. People underestimate how far my introversion really reaches when it comes to speaking first, be it for the first time or future instances. I try... honestly, I really do, but I rarely find the nerve. If I don't want to talk to you, I promise; I WILL tell you.
That said, if you're the type of person who hates it when people rarely message you first, you're probably going to hate me... and I'm sorry for that. Sometimes I click with people and I feel a bit more comfortable saying something first in some instances, but a lot of the time I just... don't. I'm really sorry.
It's a part of me I quite despise and try my best to work around, but for the sake of my own sanity sometimes I just have to respect my own boundaries and limitations. I hope you will too, and that you'll give me a fair chance.
Canon vs Non-Canon Roleplays
The differences between the two!
It is important to note that most roleplays with Echo will be considered non-canon due to universe and lore restrictions. Unless you own a character that exists within Fortuna's universe and follow its lore, all roleplay is considered non-canon by default. (please see disclaimer here for more information on Fortuna's lore)
What this means is that any non-canon roleplay that happens will not affect her canon self and vice versa. Most information listed here is viable for both canon and non-canon Echo and her non-canon background story will bear many similarities to its canon counterpart for convenience's sake.
If you would like to roleplay with canon Echo I would prefer you know enough about Fortuna's universe and lore for the impling species before attempting. Please do not take it upon yourself to create one of her custom, closed species without her permission, out of respect to the artist and her desires. Thank you!
Preference: Very High
This is my most preferred universe setting for Echo. Because it so closely resembles her canon universe, it's where I feel she's most at home. This universe is very open ended to essentially any type of character or species, perhaps excluding those who might feel more at home in a sci-fi or futuristic universe.
The designated time period should remain late-medieval to early-renaissance at most. Magical elements will be fairly common and modern or futuristic ones kept relatively non-existent. Otherwise, options within this universe are nearly limitless and as such it would be easier to discuss realm-specifics within whisper or private messages if you're interested.
Preference: Low-Neutral
Originally, I was very much against placing Echo in any type of modern universe whatsoever. However, so long as fantasy and magical elements remain common in the universe(s) in question, I figured it wasn't too unacceptable, providing a proper introduction to it.
Much like the universes below this section, my go-to excuse for Echo to wind up in this type of one is that she is somehow sent through a magical portal or veil between worlds and finds herself this new realm. The details and specifics of the exact circumstances for how this happens and the transition itself can be discussed beforehand if need be. Don't be afraid to ask!
Preference: Neutral
As I mainly roleplay Echo on Furcadia, this is not an uncommon universe for her to be found in. While I don't follow Furcadia's canon very strictly, I do use the general concept of it and discuss specifics of any particular roleplay between my partner(s) if and when necessary.
I can either roleplay Echo as if this is her natural universe, or take the 'oops I got magically poofed here somehow' route. Either way, the choice is ours to discuss if you're interested!
For dreams with specific or unique, custom universes, depending on the rules, restrictions, and the general theme of the dream, Echo's reasons for existing in it is highly subject to change. For this reason it's unlikely that I'll frequent these sorts of dreams unless they somehow fit Echo's character type well enough that I can find a reasonable explanation for her to exist there. If I encounter any dreams like this and find myself frequenting them, they will be listed here under their own specific categories.
Currently, there are no dreams that I frequent on Echo. Want to change that? Think you know of a dream where she might fit in? Let me know! I'm always happy to try out new places. Please try to avoid inviting me into dreams that are OOC a majority of the time, though. While I don't mind the occasional OOC down time, I vastly prefer a setting with moderate to high amounts of RP taking place most of the time. Thank you!
Preference: Negotiable
This includes any of the universe settings not mentioned above. Sci-fi, Futuristic, Non-Fantasy, etc. While there are those that I'm likely never to roleplay Echo in (non-fantasy universes, for example), there are others I may not have thought of or considered a suitable fit for her character. If you don't see the type of universe you were hoping to roleplay in listed here, don't be afraid to make a suggestion!
Most of my roleplays begin with at least a little fleshing out of the general who, what, whens and wheres of our potential RP, so if you have an idea you wanna toss out there, be my guest! If your question is asked frequently enough or I find I enjoy your suggestion(s), I may list it here for future roleplaying purposes!
